“A Church with a Relevant Vision”

While sitting around the kitchen table on what would have normally been another quiet Christmas evening of sharing at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Arthur T, Jones, the Holy Spirit transformed that setting into a labor room for the birth of a church. An idea that had settled in the hearts, but suppressed in the minds of Rev. Arthur T. Jones and Rev. Earl B. Mason, Sr.

On December 27, 1988, the first informal Bible study was held at the home of Rev. Arthur T. Jones. It was during this study that Rev. Jones and Rev. Mason openly shared the vision for a church.

On February 5, 1989 an inaugural service was held and on March 5, 1989 the first public worship was held at the Ramada Inn in Tampa Florida. Faithfully, Pastor Mason continues to lead the Bible-Based fellowship Church of Temple Terrace with vision, valor and vitality.

Pastor Mason, as he prefers to be called, answered his call to the ministry in 1986 and was licensed and ordained under the leadership of the late Dr. F.G. Hilton of the St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa where he was also a member as a young adult. He continued his degree pursuits by attending the prestigious Dallas Theological Seminary and received his Master’s in Theology as well as Doctorate in Theology from Cornerstone University Theological Seminary, Jerusalem, Israel. His dissertation “The Church Is Here To Stay: Birth, Growth, Health & Demise” is sure to become a work to be remembered among his professional peers. Pastor Mason’s life and legacy are evidence of how God has equipped, strenghtened and sustained him.
